Wheat 18/19
The core region intends to plant more wheat than last year. But the uncertainty grows with each week that passes without rain. More than 100 mm are needed in the drier locations. Meanwhile, rental contracts begin to be negotiated. The first agreements have begun with decreases in values, however, the recovery of the rains in April and the prices improvements could change the rent values. Rains this week will begin to define the wheat campaign.
Early crops
The harvest of the first soybean advanced 90% and 95% in early corn. The average yields are 3,2 Tn/ha and 9,0 Tn/ha, respectively. The plots that could be supplied with the groundwater are those with the highest yields. The areas with hills exhibit the worst yields.
Second soybean
Second soybean´s harvest is advancing. The 400 thousand hectares harvested reveal yields ranging from 0.5 Tn/ha in the surroundings of Cañada de Gómez, Santa Fe, to 5,0 Tn/ha in Carlos Pellegrini, in the same province. The average yields are around 1,8 Tn/ha. The plots that were below of 0,5 Tn/ha would only be harvested by those who have their own machinery.
Corn planted in December
In June, the majority of corn planted in December would be harvested. Although the cereal´s conditions recovered with the rains of the first fortnight of April, average yields are estimated between 4,0 and 5,0 Tn/ha. There would be a great variability of yields: from 1,0 to 9,0 Tn/ha.
