Soybean decreases its area and rotations with grasses increase in the region In the 2014/15 commercial year for each hectare of wheat or corn, 3.6 hectares of soybeans were planted. This year, for each hectare of grass only 2 hectares will go to soybeans. The core zone will not only maintain the level of grasses that it was recovering in recent years, but it would add half a million hectares more. Therefore, it is almost a fact that the crop will increase from 1.1 million hectares last year to 1.35 million hectares in this 2018/2019 cycle. The high costs in the treatments for the control of weeds favor the incorporation of grasses in the rotation. There would be 100 thousand more hectares of corn in addition to the one million hectares implanted last year. But new plots would be added and the region is expected to end up cultivating 1.25 million hectares. In this way, the first soybean would suffer a significant drop, and would go from cultivating 4.4 million hectares to 3.9 million hectares.
